Although CBD seems destined to play an important role as a therapeutic agent for a growing number of medical indications, we should seriously ask ourselves if the current unregulated production and sale of CBD oils is done responsibly. Despite the fact that CBD is mainly sold as “just” a food supplement, it is often used by severely ill people with the intention of improving their body functions in a way that their standard medication could not. This obviously puts CBD uncomfortably close to the realm of medicines. Interestingly, the WHO, based on a review of available scientific data and input from international experts, recently concluded that CBD does not immediately require rescheduling as a drug [38], although a fuller review on the risks and benefits of CBD is still being planned. I am interested in finding a cannabidiol pill, capsule, or gelcap of at least 15mg to use as a nightly sleep aid. I hope to find one with a THC content of 1.5mg or less that I can purchase in quantity to keep the price per dose as low as possible. I live in Washington State, where marijuana in all its forms is legal for those 21 years or older. I am curious if anyone knows whether buying this type of product is less expensive as a medical prescription in Washington than it is when purchased over-the-counter. I am also interested in possibly purchasing on-line a product that meets the criteria mentioned above, if any of you know of such product. Please share anything you know that can help me.

So far, I’ve found that in order to feel a marked improvement in pain relief, I need a high dose of CBD (which I have yet to determine due to the unavailability and expense). However, I have found that (edible) THC has allowed me to fall asleep faster and longer compared to prescriptions such as Ambian. It also gives me a feeling of well-being. I went from only sleeping 2-3 nights a week for no more than 4 hrs per sleep, to sleeping 8 hrs per night. This alone is worth using cannabis. Last year, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine released a nearly 500-page report on the health effects of cannabis and cannabinoids. A committee of 16 experts from a variety of scientific and medical fields analyzed the available evidence — more than 10,000 scientific abstracts in all. Because so few studies examine the effects of CBD on its own, the panel did not issue any findings about CBD specifically, but it did reach some conclusions about cannabis and cannabinoids more generally. The fact that the maximum CBD content in an oil is limited by the THC present in the herbal material used makes it attractive to add an additional amount of purified CBD to boost the percentage advertised on the label. Unfortunately, the Novel Food Catalogue of the EU states that “extracts of Cannabis sativa L. in which CBD levels are higher than the CBD levels in the plant source are novel in food” [35]. My mom is late stage dementia. We have tried coconut oil/black pepper/curcumin combo for years. Gives only tine bit of help, and is not something that reverses dementia. Maybe in someone who can score better than a 14 on the mme it could be of help. But cannabinoid is a different story. Cannabinoids produce better results in less time. Can't say yet that they will reverse anything though.

I tried the CBD oil that comes from hemp cause that’s all that’s legal where I live and was really hoping it would help with my back pain but it does absolutely nothing. Might as well have bought a bottle of vegetable oil & saved $150. I think it’s the THC that’s in medical marijuana that offers true pain relief, looking forward to it being legal across the country not just in 30 states.
